Windows Energy Efficient Pella Andersen Vinyl Wood Products

Many homeowners worry that they won’t be able to handle ever increasing energy bills, so they are looking at ways of making their home more energy efficient. One of the ways of doing so is changing old windows, which offer poor insulation. The top two choices in terms of energy efficiency are Pella and Andersen windows.

But each one is better? Here is what you need to know:

  1. Pella Has a Higher Energy Star Rating

In simple terms of energy efficiency, Pella outranks Andersen windows. Their products have better Energy Star ratings, as well as lower solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC). This means that the window reflects heat from the sun, keeping the home cooler during the summer. Pella windows also have a lower U-factor, which means that they provide better insulation against temperatures outside.

  1. Andersen Windows Offer More Frame Options

While they do not have the first position in terms of energy efficiency, Andersen windows come on a close second position. But they also have some advantages of their own. One of them is a wider choice of frame materials and styles compared to Pella windows.

  1. Andersen Offers Transferable Warranty Coverage

Finally, if you are renovating your home with the purpose of increasing its sale value, you may want to choose Andersen windows. Their warranty coverage is transferable to a new homeowner. Pella does not offer this option.  For all the options it is best to look at the products with local Andersen and Pella window dealers and discuss the options.
