Estimate Window Replacment Frame Materials

The average cost of replacing one, standard-sized window is between $100 and $650, but the price range of available products is very wide, with the replacement costs of high-end, special windows easily reaching $1,500. There are many factors that influence the final amount that you will have to pay for your window – here are some:

  • The material of the frame – vinyl is the most popular and most affordable Denver window replacement frame material, followed in the line by aluminum, then composite and with solid wood being the most expensive material used for making window frames;
  • The number of the panes – modern windows come with two, three or even five panes. The more panes there are in a window, the higher the price;
  • The type of glass – plain glass is usually the cheapest, while tinted panes and panes that have reflective film on their outer surface are more expensive;
  • Window type – the most common window types are single-hung, double-hung, casement, bay, picture and sliding windows. Each of them is different in terms of installation complexity as well as in terms of pricing;
  • The location of the window – windows that are installed in basements or in mansard rooms need to fulfil special requirements in terms of size and features, therefore they are usually more expensive.
